The Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) Qatar Chapter was founded in 2007.
The initiative began on August 26, 2007, when Mr. Lyndon Magsino of KPMG sent an email inviting fellow CPAs in Qatar to help organize the chapter. Within three weeks, by September 13, 2007, 22 Filipino CPAs had signed up as founding members. The first General Assembly was held on October 4, 2007, during which 12 members were elected as council members/officers to lead the chapter’s activities. On October 10, 2007, the founding members and officers completed the application process, and the following day, PICPA Qatar obtained recognition from the Philippine Embassy.
